Pictum's beginnings in the field
This video, produced by the aquarium Nausicaá – Centre de la mer of Boulogne-sur-Mer (France), returns to the first concrete steps of the project with the Blue Living Lab, which has supported Pictum's development since its inception.
She presents the first Pictum Live installation, as well as the vision carried by Delphine Mallet, founder of VISIOON, who comes from the scientific world and is committed to observing living things.
This partnership has enabled tester, refine and validate the solution under real-world conditions, in contact with the public and the teams.
A key step that supported make Pictum a reliable, operational, and deployed solution today.

The birth of VISIOON
This video was produced for the VivaTech trade show, in the context of presenting Pictum to international partners and investors.
She returns to the origin of the project in New Caledonia and to the initial vision: Make biodiversity more accessible through video and artificial intelligence.
Since then, VISIOON has evolved.
The solutions are currently deployed, field-tested, and used by professionals.
VISIOON is now a concrete, structured, and operational solution.
The story of VISIOON :
2009 - 2011 – Beginnings in Scientific Research
Delphine Mallet began her career at IFREMER.
She participates in video surveillance system development for the study of fish and marine environments.
2011 - 2014 - Doctorate – Analysis of Living Organisms by Imaging
Completion of a doctoral thesis in environment and biodiversity, co-led by IFREMER, the University of New Caledonia, and IRD.
Research focused on the spatio-temporal analysis of ichthyofauna using rotating cameras.
The scientific basis of the’live video analysis are placed.
2014 – Creation of CALOBS and new project
Founding of CALOBS, a company specializing in Marine environmental monitoring in New Caledonia.
In parallel: development of VISIOON Project (Patent filing, image processing software development, structuring the project and future company, seeking funding.)
2014 – 2021 – 7 years of field experience and expertise at CALOBS
Scientific missions in the sea.
Methodology Development sampling methods adapted to marine environments.
Manual analysis large amounts of video.
Statistical treatments ecological data.
Production of reports, scientific publications, and presentations for institutions and researchers.
2021 – Founding of VISIOON
Creation of VISIOON by Delphine Mallet.
